A seasoned firefighter with 20-years of experience, Battalion Chief Blake Whitehead has dedicated his life to ensuring the safety and well-being of his community. Starting in 2004 with the Valdosta Fire Department, BC Whitehead dedicated 12 years, rising through the ranks to the position of Sergeant. 

In 2016, BC Whitehead embraced a new challenge with the formation of a brand-new department with Tift County Fire Rescue, where his leadership skills propelled him to the rank of Lieutenant. 

With the call to serve his hometown in 2021, BC Whitehead returned to Lowndes County as a member of Lowndes County Fire Rescue assigned to Engine 10. In 2024, BC Whitehead was promoted to the position of Operations Battalion Chief on A-Shift. 

Beyond his local contributions, BC Whitehead is a member of Georgia Search and Rescue Task Force 2, showcasing his dedication to broader emergency response efforts. 

In his personal life, BC Whitehead enjoys fitness and athletics. He finds strength and support in his family. He is happily married to Amy Whitehead, and together they lovingly raise their two children, Cason and Londyn.
