Deputy Chief Mark Maskule was born and raised in Tacoma Washington.  His career began with the United States Air Force where he worked in law enforcement for over 24 years.  Chief Maskule has been stationed and lived in numerous overseas locations.  This afforded Chief Maskule an opportunity to work with law enforcement agencies and militaries of different nations.  After retiring from the Air Force, Chief Maskule started a new career with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, working as a detective and specializing in crime scene.  Chief Maskule worked his way to Corporal of the crime scene unit before making another career change.  After 12 years with the sheriff’s office, Chief Maskule began his new career with Lowndes County Fire Rescue taking over the role of Fire Marshal.  Chief Maskule stayed on as a reserve deputy with the sheriff’s office to maintain his certification and to assist the crime scene unit.  Chief Maskule provides the direction for the Fire Marshals division which encompasses, inspections, fire investigations and fire prevention.  Chief Maskule holds many professional certificates, as well as continues his formal education in the fire service.  Chief Maskule’s education experience includes an associate degree in criminal justice from Park University.
