Overview

Lowndes County Utility Department is dedicated to providing an exceptional product to all of our customers while exceeding all EPA and EPD rules and regulations pertaining to all aspects of water quality while offering unsurpassed customer service.

This department has a very fast growing water and wastewater system. We have grown from a small outdated community water system of 200 connections in the Twin Lakes area in the 1970s, to approximately 5,500 current connections, maintaining approximately 182 miles of water lines, and approximately 178 miles of sewer lines located within our service boundaries. They are responsible for providing quality water and wastewater services.

The Utility staff takes pride in providing quality water and wastewater services to the customers of Lowndes County and we look forward to meeting our customers needs.

On weekdays from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. you may contact the Utility Customer Service Department at 229-671-2500. For problems after hours, weekends, and holidays you may contact the Lowndes County Emergency telephone service at 229-671-2503.
