  2. Code Enforcement

    The Code Enforcement Division is a functional area within Lowndes County Fire Rescue, focusing on the enforcement of codes, ordinances, and zoning through education and compliance.

  3. County Clerk

    The Office of the County Clerk is responsible for Lowndes County's compliance with open meeting requirements and open records requests.

  4. County Manager

    The goal of our local county government is to mirror the fine people that live and work in our community while striving to represent them to the best of our ability.

  5. Emergency Management

    The Lowndes County Emergency Management Agency’s primary mission is to lead the planning and preparedness efforts within Lowndes County.

  6. Engineering

    The Engineering division is responsible for reviewing and approving plans, and reviewing construction of private subdivisions.

  7. Finance

    The Finance Department’s primary role is to advise the Board of Commissioners and the county manager on the financial status of the County.

  8. Human Resources

    The Human Resource Department provides an assortment of services to employees, retirees, and potential employees with respect and compassion.

  9. Information Technology Services

    This department maintains all of the networking infrastructure, computer hardware / software, telephony systems, and physical security systems in Lowndes County Government and associated boards and agencies.

  10. Lowndes County 911

    The Lowndes County 911 Center provides 911 emergency-call answering service, dispatching service for all emergency response service (fire, law enforcement, and ambulance) and coordination.

  11. Lowndes County Fire Rescue

    Lowndes County Fire Rescue is a multi-functional emergency response agency with the responsibility of providing a broad range of services, both emergency and non-emergency, to the community.

  12. Planning

    Planning dominantly helps with rezoning or text amendment related Board of Commissioners agenda items, subdivision platting, and special tax lighting.

  13. Public Works

    The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining 1,050 miles of roads, 52 county owned facilities, and 460 vehicles / equipment.

  14. Utilities

    The Utility Department staff takes pride in providing quality water and wastewater services to the customers of Lowndes County and we look forward to meeting our customers needs.

  15. Zoning

    Zoning provides technical assistance to the public and private sector as it pertains to the development and use of land within the unincorporated areas of Lowndes County.
